About Us
The Russell Players are a well-established amateur dramatics society with a membership covering all ages and with some of our founder members still very active within the group.
We are based in Swallowfield and our productions are generally performed at Swallowfield Parish Hall. We aim to stage three shows a year, a pantomime in late January or early February, a play in late spring (May) and a play in early autumn (September/October).
Our rehearsal nights are Wednesday and Sunday evenings and are generally held at the Parish Hall. When we are not rehearsing we could be play reading or even holding auditions for a future production.
We have an active social calendar with an annual summer barbecue, trips to both amateur and professional theatres as well as other ad-hoc events.
Our Committee members are:
Chris Partridge (Chairman), Nigel Adams (Treasurer), Juliet Devon (Secretary and Membership Secretary), Deni Smale, Bryan Partington & Hazel Gillingwater.
Membership is currently £20 a year for adults and £10 a year for children under 18 years old.
If you would like to contact us please send us a message via our email address russellplayers@gmail.com and we will reply as soon as we can.
